Basil The Bold - San Francisc

Updated my ratings as per the owner's feedback and that they will make some changes. I have not been back since to try, but I wanted to increase my stars in response to the feedback.

We had Basil the Bold catered for our work office today and WOW, I cannot say enough good things about the food. The chicken curry and tofu curry were both off the charts delicious. The ingredients/flavoring were unique, and the texturing and the way everything was prepared was just absolute perfection! PanPan, the owner, is such an amazing and talented person her creations are nothing short of incredible. Highly recommend this place if you haven't tried it yet!

How does one write a review for a closed business? Answer: Pastel. Having tried many makers' foods in the past six months, I happened to read the menu here and something caught my eye. Having tried a number of other businesses' noodle dishes, it was an automatic to try their chewy curry noodles not knowing what to expect, I was happily overwhelmed by the flavors, textures, and variety of ingredients in this meal. The noodles certainly lived up to its name being chewy in a good way. The portions were large as I could only finish 3/4th in one sitting. The rest became my soup for another meal. I also how well packed my meal was Will look at their menu and check whether anything tempts me again like this one did. Try this if you are adventurous.

Got a vegan larb burrito delivered as part of the office lunch program. It had some excellent warm grilled tofu and some wild rice I think. Glad to see it delivered in a sustainable compostable container as well.

Hidden takeout spot inside a spacious Dogpatch building. Loved the larb tofu, the flavors, the crispiness. The broccoli was okay, a bit bitter, almost as if the seasoning was slightly burnt. The curry was very oily, but very delicious. Portions are on the small side, but the low prices reflect that. The person we picked up the food from was very friendly. The menu is limited, but if you're looking for some simple Thai food and flavors, some is better than nothing!
