Mr. Sunmoon - San Jose del Monte

Almorzó antes y consiguió el arroz de la luna de sol y el calamar frito. El arroz de la luna de sol es como un chop cremoso Suey con huevo lateral soleado en la parte superior. El calamar estaba tierno y tenía mucho sabor a Umami a medida que se conoce la comida china. Su servicio fue un poco lento, pero sé que es normal que cualquier restaurante tenga algunos lapsos los fines de semana debido a la gran cantidad de clientes. Y hoy es un domingo. El precio es justo en el presupuesto, así que no se queja aquí :)

El Sr. Sunmoon es un antiguo restaurante chino en Greenhills, ubicado anteriormente en el sótano de Shoppesville. Recordé cenar aquí con mi familia los fines de semana. Después de décadas de estar aquí, ahora aquí estoy, probándolo de nuevo. En esta ocasión, pedimos pastel de ostras, riñón con kuchay y mariscos chami. Su comida es buena que te recuerde la comida china vieja, como las que solíamos comer en Binondo. Su riñón de cerdo era suave y tierno. No tiene el hedor o el aroma picante. La torta de ostras no tiene tanta ostra como antes. Seafood Chami era bueno. El sabor de su comida era bueno, pero la calidad de ella no era tan buena como antes. Mr. Sunmoon is formerly Sunmoon in the Greenhills Shopping Complex. They moved from their old location to this new location just outside the Greenhills Shopping Complex. I remember my grandmother bringing me and my mom to the original Sunmoon for lunch when I was still in school. It's always a tough decision to move; on one hand is a move to modernity and a newer and cleaner venue. On the otherhand, you lose your foothold on your historical location. At this new venue I was able to eat here twice. Once for a family celebration and once with a couple of foreign guests. They serve good chinese food from short orders to set menus for lauriat. They know the local chinese taste that the Chinese community here are used to and thus have a stable market of returning customers. Pricing is good and matches their setup. They are not fine dining level but they do serve the some of the same dishes as the big fine dining level chinese restaurants. snapsnstories.blogspot.com

Had lunch earlier there and got the sunmoon rice and pan fried squid. The sunmoon rice is like a creamy chop suey with sunny side egg on top. The squid was tender and had a lot of umami flavor as what chinese food is known for. Their service was a bit slow but I know it's normal for any restaurant to have some lapses on weekends because of the large number of customers. And today is a sunday. Price is right on the budget too so no complains here :)

Mr. SunMoon is an old Chinese restaurant at Greenhills, previously located at the basement of shoppesville. I remembered dining here with my family on weekends. After decades of being here, now here I am, trying it out again. On this occassion, we ordered Oyster cake, kidney with kuchay, and seafood chami. Their food is good that reminds you of old Chinese food, like ones we used to eat at Binondo. Their pork kidney was soft and tender. It doesn't have the stench or the pungent aroma. Oyster cake doesn't have that much oyster as before. Seafood chami was good. The taste of their food was good, but the quality of it was not as good as before.
