Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónGenerous portions, mildly seasoned, could be more daring in that area. Lots of bread with Italian dressing dip provided. Would prefer oil and herbs for dipping. Lots of pasta. Nice salad with meal. Read the menu carefully and ask questions as descriptions of dishes are not detailed. Attentive, friendly service. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Not fast food.
Great dessert and coffee. Love the atmosphere and family vibe
We had to wait to be seated, and when our food finally arrived, it was cold and the portion sizes were quite small. We didn't receive a bill, and our waitress, who looked quite young, told us our total was $50. The odd thing is, we ordered two dinner items — one for $13 and the other for $15 — and we only had water to drink. I'm not sure how they calculate their charges, but it would be helpful to receive a detailed itemized bill. Given that our meal was $28 plus tax, I'm left wondering what the additional $20 was for.
The stroganoff was nothing like the packaged version I'm used to; it was expertly prepared. The owner was exceptionally accommodating and even offered to make homemade noodles to cater to my daughter's food allergy. I've heard from a reliable source that if she doesn't have certain items, she will refer guests to other restaurants in town. Don’t hesitate to try something new—I highly recommend the cottage pie and the Chicken Schnitzel, which was one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had. Honestly, it wasn’t even something I would have chosen from the menu initially, but I'm so glad I did! While the prices are a bit higher than what the town is used to, you can tell that you're paying for the quality of the ingredients rather than being overcharged. Having dined at many different restaurants, I can say her prices are on par with or even better than most. This chef is incredibly skilled and operates with integrity, which is exactly what a small-town Texas community values. I'm thrilled that she has brought her personality, values, family, culinary expertise, and unique dishes to my hometown. I really hope her success grows because I plan to eat here every time I'm in town!
My experience today began with a glass of sweet tea—this place knows how to make true Southern sweet tea. It’s not overly sugary, nor does it leave you wondering if they even added sugar. The complimentary appetizer was lavash, which was interesting but not particularly exciting. Unless you have a strong craving for lavash, you might want to skip this free offering, as the Italian dressing provided didn't do much to enhance it. However, you must try the dark chocolate steak. The light dusting of dark chocolate pairs beautifully with what I assume is smoked paprika seasoning the generous bone-in ribeye (likely around 12 ounces). Cooked perfectly to order, it's served alongside spinach and cheese stuffed mushrooms that elevate the already complex flavors of the steak. The steamed redskin potatoes were a bit mild in flavor and unnecessary, but they do fill out the meal. As for desserts, the current selection includes cheesecake and sesame seed cookies. I’m not a fan of the sesame seed cookie, but I did sample their authentic New York-style cheesecake and baklava. The cheesecake was delightful, with subtle citrus notes and a smooth, firm texture. The baklava was truly exceptional, featuring perfectly toasted almonds wrapped in flaky, rich pastry and drizzled with what I suspect to be local honey. It paired wonderfully with a cup of their Ethiopian Longberry coffee—bold with a light berry finish, without the overpowering strength of some dark roasts from unnamed chain coffee shops. Overall, my early dinner was a wonderful experience, and I can’t wait to return. With such a broad range of offerings and their claim of having 101 different omelettes, there are plenty of reasons to visit every day without getting bored of their delicious food and charming ambiance. In summary: Skip the lavash, but definitely order the steak and baklava!
