A bit disappointing as we were excited to try this place out. Other than the beef empanadas which were pretty good, the rest of the food we ordered did not taste fresh. The shrimp mofungo was dry and a just overwhelming with the amount of raw garlic they put in it. The chuletas tasted as though they had already been cooked earlier and thrown into the fryer to heat up. Overcooked and very salty. Tostones lacked flavor.

This place is waaaaayyyyy overpriced!! The food is NOT all the good. Those sorullos are not freshly made. I get a pack of 24 at Perth Amboy Shoprite for 2.99 and they want to charge you here $1 each because they sale 6 sorullos for 5.99. They are the same shape as the one in Shop Rite. A Rellenos de Papa it $2.99 for one WHAT?A simple canoa $6.99 are you serious? They think because they are in a different neighborhood than Perth Amboy they overcharge for food. I was told by some people they are overpriced and the food was not good but I wanted to see for myself. At least if you are that overpriced the food should be at least good. I bought 2 things and when she said the price I said did I break a window. NEVER AGAIN I WILL GO HERE! Avoid this place like a plaques.

I am a Puerto Rican woman and I know how to cook. Cocina borinqua the food is exceptional. If you want real authentic Puerto Rican food this is a place to go.
