The burger and fries would have been delicious had they not been sitting in the kitchen for a while. They were Lukewarm at best. And our server with the long black hair and Boy George hat was not user friendly, so I dared not send it back.
Was there today for $7 Burger week, and a hostess seated me in the concert area, the atmosphere was good and the venue wasn't TOO crowded. After being seated for CLOSE to 30 minutes, and being ignored by the waitress, I left to run some errands since my time was not valued... I later returned and sat myself down by the entrance door, and was greeted again by the both bartenders who were inviting and sweethearts! Feeling nervous and my anxiety kicking in, I walked around the bar area to speak to her in private to place my order. Another waitress observed this and told one of the managers, who later approached me and asked me to go back to the other side and TRULY wasn't listening to me at all, but just waived me off and my business! They made a rule of being UNABLE to place the Burger Week order to go, so I was left with having to eat there, but THERE WAS NO ROOM!!!! The ONLY employees who actually talked with me and tried to work with me were Kendall (bartender), and another woman... and BOTH were GREAT! Everyone else were VERY rude and ignored me greatly... if you're a minority, DO NOT ENTER THIS BAR!!!!
This is an edit of an old review. I wrote as I was mad when I originally wrote it. I used to come down here all the time since 2014 as it was a tourist spot because of its history overtime the foot traffic has gone down for whatever reason, the only issue I had was certain people which I will not name but I am a forgiving person and move forward, which is why I edited this review and taking the time to talk about it without getting overwhelmed. I just feel like they’ve lost their touch with people, especially old time customers, as things have changed after the 2020 pandemic I still like everybody there especially the old bartenders but it’s just not what it used to be. If I had time. I would stop by again as I do love the atmosphere in the history. I wanted to talk to the guy who told me about the review. I just didn’t have the time to tell him that I was mad and apologize as life just all of us pretty hard and unpredictable things happen and I just didn’t have the time. Also congrats to Mario for being the GM now he's a really great guy. Unfortunately I don't drink too much anymore due to inflation bleeding my income.
Nice place. Good happy hour and beer selection. No tv screens.
A classic Cincinnati favorite you can’t go wrong with. Being one of the oldest bars in the US and the oldest in Cincinnati, it has the vibe of antiquity. Always a great place to get a drink after a long day.
