Had a limited time so I asked what time my order would be done. I was told 10 minutes. 10 minutes passed and order wasn't ready so decided to check back in to see how long still it would take. I did so nicely. They did make my order ready which I said I'm grateful for. However the order turned out so bad I could almost not eat it. Too greasy and not much content in it. I ordered the same once before and it was good. I suspect they did make my order bad on purpose because they might have thought I'm complaining when I wasn't. I was just trying to check back in and was nice about it. This happened Sunday Jan 2, 2022. Whoever were working that day they're unprofessional and unkind.
Originally went to Boiling point down the street but it was TO GO only due to low staff. We headed to Tasty Pot since it was close. Bf had the beef soup, he really liked it. I tried the broth and it had a touch of spice, but tasted good. With the hot pot you get a free green tea or black tea bubble tea. I'm not into Hot Pot so got the pork rice dish. It was good but there's only 3 pieces of meat, so didn't really fill me up.
We tend to choose Tasty Pot over Boiling Point most times because we feel there is more MSG in Boiling Point. And honestly, it's just a hot pot: they all taste pretty similar most of the time. We like to come to Tasty Pot when we have a craving for a nice Chinese hot pot and this definitely satisfies our cravings without leaving too big of an MSG feeling in our mouths like Boiling Point. 1. Beef Hot Soup 4/5 The classic soup flavor you can get here. It has a strong beef flavor and comes with many ingredients. Love that it comes in a sizzling hot soup and you are able to turn it off whenever you want. The meal also comes with a cup of tea and the tea is surprisingly very good quality! 2. Curry Flavor Hot Soup 3/5 Honestly the curry flavor is pretty forgettable. Tried this broth just to try a new flavor, but we liked the beef soup much better.
With the cold and rainy season upon us, hot pot is always one of the best comfort foods to eat to keep our tummies warm. For me, one of my favorite go to places is Tasty Pot. Located near the Costco Home Depot in Shoreline area, I highly recommend checking out this place if you're into having your own hot pot at a reasonable price. Having visited here multiple times over the last couple of years, here are some things to note: Things to note: Parking: Plenty there's a huge lot in front of the restaurant Reservations: If you go during non peak dining areas, almost never a wait. If you're traveling with a big group, recommend coming in early or calling ahead to see if you can do a reservation COVID 19 cleanliness: I have dined here in person a few times and felt pretty safe in regards to how the staff does their cleaning protocol and such. Hot Pot Options: I loveeee the amount of choices here. You do have the option to pick your spice level, rice or noodles, and add additional toppings. Do note that the pricing AND size for the hot pot option varies. Just read the menu carefully and info is located in the corner. Plus, you get a small free green or black tea on the side! Hot Pot Itself: Overall, I enjoy the quality of the hot pot here. Portion is quite generous and it's very nice that you get a variety of ingredients. : Top favorite would have to be the lamb and Japanese Miso. Plus, wait time for your food is rather short and not too long. Other food appetizer: Highly recommend trying out the takoyaki or popcorn chicken. Very tasty and fresh Service: Staff is pretty quick and efficient in addressing your needs. May need to wave your hand in the air once in awhile though if the place is busy. Overall, you can't go wrong with this place and I personally, can't wait to visit again.
