Smoke Shack Aka Uncle Bob's - Seward

A casual place for brunch that serves delicious comfort food! It's located in an old train car by the harbor with a cute coffee shop and other stores. You order at a window and they have covered picnic tables if you want to enjoy your food there. I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy and grits (special for the day was pork with green chili) and both were phenomenal! The biscuits were soft and soaked up all of the delicious gravy. The grits were kind of heavy but very flavorful and cheesy. The portions were huge so I was stuffed by the end of my meal. My friends ordered the sandwiches and breakfast burrito which they said were also really good.

Visiting Seward for the first time and got to try this place out for breakfast with my mom. I ordered the breakfast burrito smothered in sausage gravy. 1000/10. It was thick, juicy, fulfilling and delicious. The potatoes were seasoned so deliciously, I could've ate them alone! Def good for sharing! The strawberry mint lemonade was delicious but a little pricy to pay $5 for something so small. My mom got the French toast which came with sausage and eggs. Their sausage tasted home made??? Like, they have their own seasoning and mushed it together! Highly recommend this place! They have a patio in the back that had tables under some shade! Super cute to see the old trains

Highly recommended by locals and visitors, we came here for breakfast one day while in town. According to a bus driver, they are owned by two young siblings. She was cheerful and friendly. Outdoor dining only, so dress accordingly. They provide disinfecting spray at each table and ask each customer to clean up after themselves. You may have to share a table with other customers but that's actually more fun to exchange information. I ordered eggs Benedict and coffee. Honestly I am not sure why locals call this place as the best breakfast place in town. It wasn't bad but I guess it is what it is here. I really like this train concept and love the decor of the train wreck. Located across from the Seward depot, open for breakfast and lunch.

Sorry it's closed! We walked from the Gateway Hotel and found the rail cars where The Smoke Shack used to be. Talked to a cool guy in a rail car espresso shop who filled us in. He recommended the Porthole food truck and Mermaid Grotto. We chose Mermaid Grotto since we wanted to sit down and be served. Cool place! Amazing view and house made biscuits.

Popped over to this spot while waiting on a boat tour and needing something quick, the folks from the hotel suggested the smoke Shack. Housed in an old train car so you have to order at the front window and pick-up from the back. There's no indoor seating, outdoor picnic style seating under tarps is what they have. Wouldn't be a bad idea on a nice day but it was cold and they didn't even have deck heaters. I ordered four breakfast burritos with sausage. They were huge, stuffed with eggs, sausage, potatoes, tomato, and cheese. Really good flavor but I wish they'd give more sausage and egg and less potato. All in all pretty good, would go back and try lunch next time.
