We just stopped there for a quick lunch and it was a beautiful surprise. they had a $10 lunch special, t knochen steak with salat and chips. everything was delicious! the service was fast, staff quite friendly.
We stopped in Grafton to split up our trip from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast and decided to have dinner at the Aussie. We enjoyed it so much that we returned for lunch on our way back home. The menu had a standard selection with a few specials that were all well-made. The prices were great, the service was quick, and they served the coldest beers in the region. Though it's a bit off the main highway, it's worth taking a detour to enjoy some delicious steak, schnitzel, and Caesar salad.
My motel restaurant was closed so Tripadvisor recommended the Aussie Steak House. The country hotel was not an exciting venue to visit but the Steak was fabulous and the services excellent. We arrived at 6.00pm and it was filling up fast but there is plenty...of room in the adjacent licenced lounge (pub). I can recommend the Scotch Fillet and my boss cwill recommend the Lamb Cutlets
I am not going to begrudge a $10 meal. I had the T-bone special on Thur night for $10. This is not a gastro pub, but rather a local pub that serves pub food. Was it the best T-bone I've ever had? No. I've paid...more for a sandwich! Big serve of chips, T-bone was fine (I asked for Medium-rare, it came medium) and was on the thin side for the cut and the salad was on the small side (but I like salad and could eat a lot of it) but overall, it was a decent feed for a decent price. Looking at other people's meals that were served, portions were generous... maybe I had a little food envy. If you don't mind fried, simple food, then you can't go too wrong. I arrived bang on 6pm (due to location of motel) and it was already quite busy. This is a no frills, locally run pub with standard pub food. The pressed tin ceilings are beautiful (if you're into that).
