The Steam Packet Inn - South Hams

I was extremely frustrated when I visited this restaurant with my extended family. We were overcharged, and a few members of our group had to leave early but had already ordered food, which they said we could have. However, when the food finally arrived at our table an hour later, we were informed that we couldn't have it.

This charming riverside pub offers a selection of quality ales and has a welcoming staff.

I had a delicious vegetarian breakfast at this restaurant. The food was cooked perfectly, of good quality, and reasonably priced.

Can’t fault the location and it’s not the inn’s fault it was raining. Food was a bit underwhelming although the fish and chips was good. It did feel that we were an inconvenience and it’s really unclear that the restaurant and bar are not separate and there was confusion about entering the restaurant as didn’t think we should walk right in and were told off for being in the way. Lovely place but the food needs more work. Serving on fancy slate doesn’t make things taste better. Such a shame as all the reviews made it seem worth the visit. Would hazard a guess that a lovely sunny day makes a difference and you forget the food.

Food excellent! Drinks first class especially choice of beers! Our group of 4 OAPs were pleasantly served! FINEST KIND
