Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe visited One Stone Restaurant twice during our 9-day trip to Antigua. We enjoyed the atmosphere and found it to be a wonderful place to connect with the locals. The menu offers a variety of options, from fast food to healthier choices. We highly recommend trying the cassava and the Ital sauce, a delicious soup-like sauce that can be added to your meal. Everything we sampled was fantastic, including the homemade juices. We updated our previous review on July 12, 2021.
We arrived at the restaurant at 1pm on Saturday and found it empty. We were worried we had missed them, but luckily their food truck arrived and they quickly set up their equipment. It seemed like they were running on island time. A crowd started to gather with no defined line, but the staff kept track of who was next in line. There were two separate lines for two different types of food, each with a large menu sign. One menu had mostly fried items like pea balls, cassava balls, spinach balls, pizza, and other fried patties displayed in a heated glass cabinet. The other menu listed items served from covered tureens and warming trays. You could choose between a large or small styrofoam box and they would fill it with whatever you wanted from the menu, as long as it all fit. I paid $20 in EC dollars for the large box. This was hands down the best food I had during my 9-day stay.
There are so many incredible options at this restaurant. I had never tried broth fruit juice before, and it was like a delicious milkshake. The staff are incredibly kind, and I saw another customer bring their own container, which seems to be a growing trend. I highly recommend trying the fufu and the cassava balls. I wish we had more time to explore the menu further, but we will definitely be back when we have the chance. This review was updated on January 30, 2022.
Food surpassed expectations and are much more affordable than restaurants in antigua.
