Lakeside Family - Sterling Heights

It's has been a bit since we have been at the restaurant. O my it's still the best. The dill pickle soup is the best and city chicken is almost like my mom's and the pierogi pan fried is excellent

I absolutely love this place. Its a hidden gem if you are looking for good polish food. Not fancy by any means, but very good food. They even offer a bowl of soup for $1 more if you get an entree. Their soup is great as well. They make their own city chicken in house and is very, very tasty. Anytime im looking for polish comfort food, this is one of my go to spots.

My wife and I felt like having cabbage soup this afternoon and we stopped in with our youngest grand-daughter. The cabbage soup was so outstanding that I ordered a quart to go. But the cream of our visit was the service and the friendliness of the employees. Lydia brought our grandchild toys and a coloring book and said that her meal was on her. Our waitress, Diane, was professional and very friendly. They all wanted to make sure that our visit was quite enjoyable. Thank you for being you, ladies! We will be back!

Whenever I'm in Michigan visiting family or for business, I always make a stop at Lakeside. This time, I brought my son along. We were quickly welcomed by a lovely young lady named Brooke, who seated us and even chuckled at my cheesy jokes. The food was exceptional. Though I'm originally from Detroit, I currently live in San Diego, and I always look forward to the food and atmosphere here. My aunt introduced me to this restaurant, and I’m grateful for that. Gotta love family! Great job, everyone. I’ll be back on my next visit!

On the downside, the restaurant could use some renovation—there were cracks in the paint and stains on the drop ceiling. The chicken noodle soup had a flavorful broth, but the noodles weren’t great, and surprisingly, there was no actual chicken in it, not even a tiny piece. The clam chowder was enjoyable, and the crepes were good too, though they only offered sweet varieties. I would suggest adding savory options as well. Overall, we’ll definitely return to explore more items on the menu!
