Rojo Mexican Bistro Lakeside Mall

Not the cleanest. rather a garage sale atmosphere. kids running all over the place causing hazard with the waitstaff. drinks were pretty horrible. food was fair.

The air conditioning was broken, so we requested to be moved to the patio area outside. We were sat at a table without tableware, and it was quite awhile before we were able to get eating utensils and napkins. We ordered table side guacamole and when it was served, we had no chips. The server said she would get us chips but it took so long our meals were almost up before we got our chips for the appetizer! I hope this place gets better because the location is great!

I specified on my reservation we were celebrating a birthday with 4 people. We sat at at a table too small where our jumbo margaritas , salsa and food did not fit. I would have thought we would get seated at a booth. We sat near the kitchen where I could see the servers walking in and out. A bit disappointed Rojo did not meet my request to sit at a good table. I won't be back next year for my birthday.

I have dined at the Birmingham location and had an excellent experience. I gave the restaurant 5 stars on this site. I am sorry to say the quality of the food and portions were not the same at the Lakeside location..The chips were crisp but lacked salt. The salsa was excellent. Both were brought out promptly. I ordered the chicken fajita salad, which I had at the other location. The salad portion was smaller just bigger then a dinner salad and came with dressing on the salad , when I had ordered no dressing and had to be sent back. My guest ordered a fajita salad without chicken. The server was accommodating but our bill was wrong. We were charged for two salads with chicken. Little mistakes, small portions= big disappointment. I will not return to this locatio

The restaurant was not very busy when we arrived (it was 4:30 on a Saturday). We were greeted in a prompt, friendly manner and seated right away. Our server was friendly and attentive. Service was quick and the food quality was great. I would return again based on my experience.
