Food is delicious and consistent. I was very impressed by the Field Salad. Unfortunately, salads often seem to be an afterthought but this one was delicious! The toasted pine nuts were an especially classy touch. The tex-Mex egg rolls were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The avocado sauce that comes with them is a perfect complement. The mains: I always feel a little childish ordering the chicken tenders but they are just SO GOOD. The breading on them is light, crispy, and bubbly and the chicken is moist. The hanger steak was incredible ? perfectly cooked and buttery. The mahi mahi special was also great! Save room for dessert ? the flourless chocolate waffle is decadent and a perfect size to share with a date. The homemade root-beer is also delicious, I rarely drink soda but always have to get it. The wait staff here are some of the best! Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.
This place is a hidden gem. Usually go to Jackson?s, but heard this restaurant is in the same family, so gave it a try. Well worth the trip. Very cool atmosphere, nice bar area. Outdoor seating and great vibe inside. I wanted the prime rib, but sold out early. So ended up with the pork chop. Was cooked to perfection. My server was amazing, feel badly I forgot his name. I travel to Dulles often, so will definitely be back! I highly recommend this place. Come out and support your local businesses and avoid chains!
Very large restaurant with a very limited menu. They only have micro brews for beer and they are pricey. Food portions are very small. On the plus, the two ladies tending bar were fantastic. Super attentive and fun. Would go back just for their service.
Started off with the bread basket, spin dip, and lobster bisque. Bisque was a little on the salty side but had great flavor! Spinach artichoke dip was good and just what you?d expect. The bread was different, but good, almost like a fried bread, slightly sweet with a honey butter that makes it very hard to resist. For the main, my buddy got the chicken strips, and I ordered the 12oz prime rib blackened. The waitress came back and told me they were out of the 12oz, but had the 16oz?.. mmmkay, 16oz it is, but couldn?t you just?. Never mind? we split both. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and delicious, blackened is definitely the way to go. The chicken strips had really good flavor, but if they sit to long they get soggy really quickly. Over all, I?d recommend a stop in. From what we experienced, the execute dish well and seem eager to please. Good service. Oh, and a large selection of craft brews, not so much on the domestic side.
Sweetwater tavern is another member of the great american restaurant chain. all these restaurants keep their menus simply with a series of products that they can find in almost all restaurants, but also a few unique items. the beer selection is very good with a series of less frequent local beer. in the past, these restaurants did not accept reservations and you could only call. at least with this sweet water they can call now. highly recommended.
