I was a regular at Blå Lotus in my teenage years, and in the 15 years that's passed very little have changed. That warm, cozy scent is the same. The India inspired decor is basically the same. And all the delicious sandwiches I used to spend all my money on are still on the menu, still named after worldwide deities, and the two pots of delicious chai (one soy, one regular are still simmering on the stove. The only thing that has indeed changed, is that the two inner rooms are no longer smoke chambers. My thirties self feel that this is only for the good, though my teenage self would probably have disagreed : My usual favorite on the menu was Freja a delicious hot sandwich with chevré, tomato and parsley salsa, and It's still there. Though on this visit I'd already had lunch, so I went for another favorite: Isis hard bread sandwich with slices of feta, tomato and parsley/garlic salsa. It was just as divine as I remember it. And so was the chai I had with it. I remember the cakes as being equally heavenly, but had to resist them this time. I love places that are able to withstand time and the changing trends, all the while staying genuine and true to their core. It is the proof of true jewel. And I do love Blå Lotus, and Stockholm seems to love it too because it is just as packed as 15 years ago.
This is a hippie romantic lovely cafe with great breakfast and the sweetest staff! Good vegan sandwiches.
Healthy food, Berlin hippy chic yoga atmosphere (was really calm and zen : Friendly staff and good hideaway. Would go there again for a healthy salad
Perfect place to have an original lunch in grandmother style. The owners are very kind and always to their best to keep the quality of the service. You want a cheap, healthy, cozy and lovely dish alternative to pretentious restaurants or bad fast junk food, come here, super suggested.
Blå Lotus is a small and personal café in SoFO with an indian, asian and health theme. Their grilled toasts and sandwiches are good, but I remain unimpressed with the rest of their assortment. Sure, it 's all homemade but I don 't think it 's particularly special or interesting. Many café 's at Söder are laid back, which I like a lot, but Blå lotus just feels unambitious. Yet somehow people seem to like it enough...
