Small little place that offers delicious Thai food that is just a bit different than most and never disappoints. Portions are large and come out fresh every time. Either get there a little early or be prepared to wait for a lunch table.

Good food. Ok service. A bit pricey but you are in Castle Hills. You can substitute $1.50) brown rice for the standard steamed rice which I like and always do. They have a house special called Spicy Mango Delite which is pretty good with big chunks of mango and ginger but NOT spicy even at the level 5 it 's mild at best. Nice atmosphere and happy hour has decent priced drinks.

For the past three years I have eaten the pad thai here regularly. The pad thai has remained high quality for years. I cannot say the same for the green curry. During my most recent visit the green curry was over salted and under seasoned. However, I do appreciate that this place is accommodating to vegetarians. They remove and/or replace any meat dish with tofu or veggies. I recently moved out of town, but I make sure to eat here every time I visit San Antonio! I have yet to find great pad thai like this place!

What To Order: Beef Pad Thai I've eaten at Thai Topaz a few times over the years, and they occasionally run Groupon offers which make dining there a bargain. Food here is pretty decent, while not in my top 3 Thai restaurants of San Antonio, it is one of the better Thai restaurants in the Huebner area. Spice levels on the food here are pretty good. The 1-5 scale is consistent and the 5 is actually super hot. I tend to order on the conservative side when eating here. Service here is pretty good, but I have had occasions where it seemed they were a bit short handed. One of my favorite items here is the Pad Thai. Many of the items I have tried here seem to be very authentic as far as food prep and flavor. I would recommend trying this place if your in the area or spot a Groupon as it will let you try more items, or take someone with you to share entrees with. I know a few people who consider this their favorite Thai restaurant.
