La Marseillaise - Strasbourg

Arrived still jet lagged from our flight and looking to recharge at lunch time. It’s traditionally difficult to find lunch after 2, but this restaurant, at the end of lunch service, was more than willing to accommodate us. Tarte Flambée in the tourist areas of the Christmas Markets can be bland and the restaurants very expensive. It’s especially hard to seat 6 people. We walked in and were immediately accommodated. Though my daughter and I speak excellent French, the host noted we were also speaking English with our family members and worked hard to accommodate both languages. The food terrific. The menu had everything for every taste and palate my daughter is vegetarian and one of our guests doesn’t eat wheat. Both were able to find something delicious. The brochette de be our was served with fries and some lovely local vegetables the scent alone was amazing. The tarte flambée was perfect thinly sliced mushrooms (as we had asked for champignons), lots of creme fraiche, really well cooked. we hope to go back for a dinner during our visit. Definitely recommend!

Food is great, friendly staff, Mathieu was very attentive to our needs. We enjoyed the experience a lot and recommend it for sure.

My wife was traveling to Strasbourg for business, and I was along to explore the city on my own. For our first dinner, she had to get back to the hotel and work, so at the restaurant I picked out, we asked them if we could order take out. The waiter conferred with someone in the kitchen (it seems like a small operation), and said they could. So I ordered choucroute and my wife got a dish with smoked salmon I believe. They put all our food into a large sack, and we went on our way. When we got to the hotel, we discovered they had put the food on glass plates, and given us stainless steel flatware. Apparently, the plates had small chips in them so they would've been thrown out but the stainless? In any case, it was so nice of them to do that for us, and we had a lovely dinner back in our hotel room.

The dishes are very tasty, and I think it is the best service in Strasbourg. The whole team is incredibly nice. I prefer a thousand times to come to this restaurant every week than to test many others on Strasbourg is often disappointed with the service that is for me a key point of a good time at the restaurant.
