Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe went out of our way to visit this establishment as a couple. It was busy, a good sign, but there was a seat available and we took it. The atmosphere consisted of tables and a bar ...eh nothing offensive but nothing memorable. Then we waited, and waited for a menu, then again for a drink order (and close to 30 min) just in time before happy hours ended, then again for our drinks to arrive. Through this time we looked at a very boring menu decided on Nachos, as we decided to leave quickly and go elsewhere. But waited for everything drinks, food, an extra plate (there was to of us and we stated we were sharing the order), bill, and lastly the debit machene. One drink one shared plate one and a half hours. Need I mention through out this whole time our server stood not 15 feet from us, at the bar, having a good time talking to staff with his back to us.
Well I ordered 2 within an hour - and I"m not much of a drinker. Yes, I'm talking about that infamous drink made in Canada (and few other parts of the world) called a Caesar. Since it was between lunch and dinner, I just ordered a Caesar salad (seemed like the thing to do, to compliment my Caesar bevie). Delicious, the perfect amount of dressing and croutons. Looking forward to returning and having a full meal sometime, and of course - several Caesar bevies, with extra olives!
I was part of a group that had recently booked a lunch reservation. When we arrived, earlier than the reserved time, there was another group at a reserved table. It wasn't clear if that group also had a reservation or not. So obviously some communication problem.Anyway it was a scramble to set up 2 separate tables for our group as there was not enough space to set up another large table. The apologie was a bit off hand - oh sorry. So, not a great start.Beverage orders were taken, coffee arrived with no sugar or cream, we had to ask for cream then no spoons, so had to ask for spoons. Really!!Food orders were taken.I believe we all enjoyed our food. I had the mushroom bruschetta which was very good.We had to ask to have water glasses refilled. The waitress came around with coffee, refilled some cups but not others, so they had to ask for more coffee. At the end we asked if they were short staffed and were informed they were not.Would I go back, probably not. There are lots of other places to choose from close by.
First visit with the excuse of watching our son guest-host the regular Thursday night Blues jam. Had always wanted to drop in and try the food. Great, homey layout, and was filled with people having fun by the time we left in the very late evening. Son and wife had the stuffed Yorkies, and I went with the lamb stew. Would order either of these items again; awesome flavor, and excellent pricing.
I live in the neighbourhood... and frequently come to Jimmy Flynn's for beer and food. I enjoy to watch football and like to socialize with people. Jimmy Flynn's is a great place to come for all the above reasons. Plus! A friendly staff!.... Great for our community. The owner is usually on hand and always welcoming to his patrons. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
