Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - Surrey

Well I think it is as good as it can be waited in line for about 20 minutes which wasn?t bad since it opened yesterday. The staff were really friendly and grateful for our wait. The ordering was easy, the prices are pretty good and the food is too. Not sure what else to say nice to have another good choice in the ?hood.

Clean and tidy inside. There wasn't a lot of people when I visited around 7 pm on a week day so service was pretty quick. Chicken and biscuits were fresh and tasty, will definitely go back!

I heard great things about their classic chicken sandwich so thought I'd give it a try. I usually love a good chicken burger or chicken sandwich but this was just okay. I have to say there was way too much mayo on it for me and I would definitely ask for a lot less mayo as it was oozing out the sides and I kept wiping it off. But I really did like the pickles on it, the pickles are what made it flavorful and gave it a zing. I would try the spicy chicken sandwich next time I would not go for another classic chicken sandwich.

Chicken was good. Fries and onion rings were great. But the burger was very greasy. Had a strong oily taste. The gravy was chunky. Not sure if that was intentional. It wasn't lumpy, it just looked like it had shredded meat mixed into it which is odd. Maybe that's just how they do it. I loved the chicken strips. But the dips had an unusual flavor. I tried a few different ones and couldn't find one that I liked. This was my first time eating there. I was expecting it to taste like KFC but it had a completely different flavor. Still great food but it didn't have that flavor kick that the colonel uses. Food was good quality and fresh though. Seems to be better quality than KFC but with a little less flavour.

We ordered online and when we came in our chicken wasn't ready just yet but they were making it fresh, which we're happy to wait for because it's better fresh. The guy behind the counter (his name starts with an S but I don't remember it) gave us a free pop and cheesecake for the wait, he made sure we had everything we wanted and was super friendly.
