River Bakey -  Tamworth,

We came to Tamworth for the Canada Day long weekend to get out of the city. We ended up at the River Bakery every day, because the food was great. We had a generous platter of ribs one night, and some great baked goods on the other days

We stopped here for lunch on the way to Kingston. The coffee is great and the sandwiches are quite tasty. Being a bakery they are known for their muffins, cookies and pastries. We tried the coconut covered rum balls which were very good. We also had 2 chicken salad croissants, they were good too.The service is friendly. This is a great place to meet local folk too - everyone in Tamworth seems so friendly and appreciate visitors.We noticed they do serve beer and wine here and some gourmet sodas although we didn't try any - only the coffee. Restrooms are very clean too.

The food is fantastic. There treats are delicious and the people very nice. Great place to stop by. Their baked goods are excellent. Whether you stop for breakfast, brunch or dinner you will always find something to your taste.

Name of the bakery is a bit misleading, not on a river. I had tea, Served in a teapot, , and a cinnamon roll on their patio. the inside has a few tables and is quite small. There was a regular stream of customers, locals and local weekenders. What better recommendation can there be? they had a great selection of baked goods, Would definitely go back if I were in the area.

I often frequent this little bakery on road trips that take me north on Hwy 41 as it is a short 10 minute detour off the highway. It is a great little spot to stop for lunch to break up the drive to the Ottawa Valley or to Land O Lakes cottage country. Stop in for breakfast or lunch for a sandwich and pick up some bread, baked goods, specialty mustards or sweet treats for the weekend at the cottage. The bakery itself is quite small, with limited indoor seating but there is a lovely outdoor patio. The staff is friendly and they are always eager to please. They offer a Friday pork ribs by the pound special; the recipe changes weekly. The sausage rolls are the best I have ever had, in fact I have from time to time special ordered large quantities to use for parties at home.
