Saffron - Tendring

I ordered takeout from this restaurant, but when it eventually arrived, I was disappointed to find that it did not meet their usual high standards. The naan bread was so hard that it was inedible, making it a waste of money. Saffron used to be the best Indian takeaway in the area, but it seems like they may have a new cook or something because the quality has significantly declined.

I would like to begin by addressing the fact that this restaurant is significantly overpriced for the quality of food received. The rice was dry and hard, the korma sauce was atrocious, and the lamb was extremely chewy. The service did not meet my expectations, as the staff showed little concern for our dining experience. They only checked on us after my companion had left, even though it was clear that the food was not enjoyable. Additionally, we were charged for a chutney tray that was not requested or used, and this was not explained to us when we ordered. Overall, I do not recommend this curry house in Clacton. Their subpar food and service do not justify the high prices. I would give this establishment a generous 1-star rating.

It was my first visit to this restaurant in a few years, and unfortunately, it was not the best experience. The service was slow all night. While my meal was amazing, both my husband and our friend did not enjoy their meals as much. Additionally, we were overcharged for 2 bottles of wine, which we had to have fixed on the bill. It's a shame, as I have always had good experiences here in the past.

This restaurant is nice to visit in person but I cannot recommend using it for delivery, the delay in delivery is far too long. It is a pity as the food is tasty.

We ate in the restaurant tonight. We had to wait 1.5 hours until we got our food. When we outlined our dissatisfaction to the manager no apology only that they were busy!
