Surprisingly good Korean noodle place.Once you place your order, it will come at once steaming hot within minutes. They have a pot of nice kimchi for you. Their Gyoza are huge so if you think it's pricey, it's for a reason. I tried their spicy noodle, with good a good level of spiciness.Dumplings, steam pork (for 2) and noodles are the must try items. Don't get me wrong, other items are good too.The area sits 2-4 people, so no big parties. They don't take reservations, they don't allow you to go in without your full party and they expect you to leave right after finishing your meal because they are very busy (they are polite and don't rush you to settle your bill).
Basing off of two experiences. The service is really fast and direct. It is a very busy and smaller space but staff are always readily available to help you so you don’t have any negative feelings of being ignored, etc.I dropped my chopsticks, staff noticed, and brought me a new one without having to ask.The side dishes and kimchi are seasoned very well. I like the individual little pot of kimchi concept. The sizing of the king dumplings speaks for itself. The only thing I’d note is the medium size of the bossam is fairly smaller portion than I anticipated (second photo), but still worth it.
Went to Jin Myungdong for dinner with minimal expectations, and now it has become one of my go-to places for some serious korean dumpling eating. Their kimchi side dish was exceptionally fresh and their king dumplings were so delicious...highly recommend ordering the one with kimchi. If you want to try both regular and kimchi dumplings ask for half and half. Also tried their Bulgogi Jungsik set meal which was good but not memorable. Their cold buckwheat noodle Mul Naengmyun was ok but would taste better with soup mixed in with the noodles. Prices are reasonable and their service is great. The restaurant is better for smaller groups since space is limited and they close relatively early so make sure to go earlier.
Been here multiple times and I am never disappointed! The soup is perfect for a chilly days, and the kimchi is fresh and not too sour. Not pictured: the giant dumplings! Super yummy.
