We had booked just to be on the safe side and when we arrived we were pointe to our table, it was in a bit of sun so without any hesitation the man in charged put another table in the shade still right on the edge of the balcony overlooking the marina. We ordered and my wife had the Thai prawn curry, the waitress came and asked if she would like to have a little heat in it, it was perfect and my pesto, Parmesan crusted sweet lip was also very good. Highly reccomend this place for food, drink and service it was all very well done.couldn't have been happier and it was not expensive either.
Called in for lunch while passing through on holiday.Friendly staff, fantastic location, the weather was perfect. We sat outside by the Marina and had a very nice lunch, I could have stayed there all day.If you are driving up the A1, it is well worth the detour.
A long time ago , when the earth was young , my wife and I , quite separately , visited Tin Can Bay. Well ,it's changed a great deal , but the views are still fabulous , and the locals generally friendly and welcoming. We chose the Marina for lunch , the weather was conducive to an outdoor setting , and the specials board had two of our favourite meals , so we chose them , a Prawn Laksa and Slow Cooked Pork Belly. It's basically a small bistro that services the local marina, the yachties & other nautical folk , and serves almost all day. They were reasonably busy , a good sign as many others we'd looked at were almost deserted.Water promptly on the table , menu's delivered , and a large specials board on display. Order taken and drinks as well.Drinks were delivered reasonably promptly and were excellent. The meals took a while longer , and it seems I got the last of the Pork Belly , as that was taken off the board after my order. The Prawn Laksa was loaded with good , fresh local prawns and most of the usual ingredients , wife declared the flavour very good , even without the chilli heat she prefers. I sampled a Prawn and some broth , Prawn was excellent & the broth had a great depth of flavour , very well done.My Pork Belly was quite large , rested on a bed of Carrot Puree , a good salad & chips , with some slices of cooked Pear as a garnish. The Puree was excellent , a great choice with the Pork. The meat was pull apart tender , with excellent flavour. Both meals did not require any additional seasonings , balance was great. The only downside for me was the crackling was not crispy/crunchy , but that's a minor quibble , as it was quite tasty and supremely edible !So , we left very satisfied , the meals were very good , the pricing was excellent and the location was superb.Would we return , an emphatic yes !
We arrived early and starving on a cold winter's night. The service was good and the food was excellent - very fresh with the large portions that seem to be obligatory in Queensland country towns. Of course we tried the local seafood. Yum!
I have seafood chowder everywhere I travel and they have the best seafood chowder I have ever had! My husband had the sage buttered scollop pasta. It had the biggest juiciest local scollops that you could imagine. Beautiful seafood and service.
