Hanbury Arms - Torfaen

I have to say, this is the best restaurant in Torfaen. The food is fantastic, there's a wide selection of drinks to choose from, and the staff is friendly. Why would you go anywhere else when you can stop by here for a delicious meal or a quick drink? Everyone is welcome. Keep up the good work – I love it!

The staff and locals were great, but unfortunately the ghosts didn't make an appearance. It felt staged and not worth the £30 per person. The five hours we spent there were boring and we were told no alcohol was allowed, yet we saw the hosts drinking vodka. The accommodation was not impressive, I would only give it half a star. The barmaid was the only positive aspect, she was lovely. Overall, I would rate it a 1 1/2 out of 10 and would not return.

I went to a restaurant in Caerleon for dinner one evening. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the menu was somewhat limited. They have a nice outdoor seating area by the river, which would be ideal on a warm night. The inside of the restaurant was decent, but nothing special. I ordered the chicken curry, which was lacking in flavor, but the rice was cooked well and the sweet potato fries were delicious. My partner had the fish and chips, which were good, although they could have used more chips. For dessert, I had the cheesecake, which was just okay. The service was a bit slow, but we weren't in a hurry so it didn't bother us. Overall, it was typical pub food and the prices reflected that. I probably wouldn't dine there again, but I might stop in for a drink if we happen to be in the area.

Good service nice food but could have been hotter as not very hot. But all round very nice. Service was good menu Is limited but Welsh beef on the menu was excellent burger was so tasty.

Lovely Sunday dinner and a friendly staff. The new landlord behind the bar is certainly a character! Nice to have a pool table too. We'll definitely be back.
