Coach Horses Horns Cross - Torridge

After a long walk, my companions and I found ourselves stranded outside the Coach and Horses on a hot Monday afternoon. With no buses back for 3 hours and little chance of arranging a taxi, we were fortunate to be helped by Tina. She arranged for a local taxi to pick us up and despite the pub being closed on Mondays, she opened the bar for us to have some refreshments before our ride arrived. Tina's kindness and hospitality were truly appreciated, and we look forward to visiting again when we are in the area.

We made a reservation for Thursday, July 6th, 2023, and were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady who went above and beyond to assist us. The room was perfect and I appreciated not having to carry my luggage upstairs. A taxi was arranged for us, our car was repaired, and we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. The location was excellent, near the coast with Bideford and Barnstable close by. This was one of the best places I have ever stayed at. Thank you, Tina, for your fantastic hospitality.

This pub has a wonderful ambiance, great company, and a cozy open log fire in the main bar. The pints from the cellar are top-notch. Don't miss out on this charming spot.

Friday nights are Fish and chips at the Coach and Horses (17.00 to 19.00) Cooked to order and piping hot! Father in law was on holiday from USA and missed fish and chips so we've toured North Devon trying fish and chips and his (and our) verdict is that these were the best.

Tina gave us a warm-hearted welcome, and was very helpful with charging the car, directions to the beach and general information! The rooms are clean and roomy and we will definitely be back. Thank you, Tina!!
