This place has the vibe of a neighborhood joint, and appears to cater mostly to Chinese folk (my brother-in-law was the only non-Chinese person that I saw).
There were three of us and we went for dim sum on a Sunday at 10:30 am with no reservations. The restaurant was busy but we managed to get a table after a 5-minute wait. Dim sum dishes are still wheeled around the restaurant on a cart and you pick whatever you want. You can also order lunch specials. Menu was in both Chinese and English. About 25% of the patrons were non-Chinese. I have been to this restaurant several times and I am always satisfied with the food.We had five dim sum dishes and a plate of noodles from the lunch specials. Total cost of meal was $28 before tip. We were quite full and had leftovers that we took home in a doggie bag. Service was friendly and the staff understood English.Restaurant is on NE corner of East 41st Ave and Main St. Parking is free on the street along 41st Avenue.
Our first night in Vancouver, we stopped in for dinner. We were the only Caucasians there, and the only English we heard was when the staff spoke to us. We selected the special: choice of two dishes, soup, rice, and a side of cold chicken. $30. Luckily we had a refrigerator in our rental, as we had enough for three meals! The food was quite good, and attractively presented. We especially enjoyed the beef with peppers, cashew chicken also tasty. My dinner companion had a second serving of soup. We did wish we had made more daring choices, as I was in China a few years ago and saw menu items I've not experienced since.Service was friendly and attentive but unobtrusive, and we were invited to return.
The first time I went to this restaurant was in 2010. , it was on a Sunday. It was father's day. The service was so slow , they had cart service , one lady pushing the cart. This restaurant use to be on Kingsway at one time and there was never anyone there from what I could see.It then moved to Cambie & Marine Drivea short time. It's new location is not so great from what my cousin had said to me , and her cousinsaid the same it was not good. I haven't been there in 5 years so I have to believe this.I may attempt to try this place again on a Sunday and see .
