The restaurant was quite empty which usually isn’t a good sign. Since it’s a steakhouse I ordered a black angus ribeye steak (Uruguay) with French fries and a black pepper sauce. I have to say I was very disappointed. It was actually a bit tough which is unusual when it comes to ribeye. It also had a bit of a weird bi-taste which I think was from the grill. The French fries was said to be fried in duck fat but I can’t say they were anything special. The sauce is not worth mentioning at all. The service was okay but I honestly had just put the last piece of food in my mouth when they took the plate away. For the price of 42€ with a soft drink I have to say this was overall a very disappointing experience and I doubt I will be back.
When the name says meat in it, beware. Usually these have claims of best meat/steak etc. in town. Unfortunately, the same is true here their skills on cooking a steak are mediocre. First steak I had to send back as medium rare came fully gray. When I pointed it out, instead of apologizing and changing, the waitress tried to defend that in the middle there is a bit of red. Absurd. Luckily the second one came correctly cooked. Sides were good. Wine (list) could do better. All in all, the theory proved true, again.
Best food and service I have gotten for far in the area.. the rest of the restaurant are slow and food was really bad. But this place is on point. Don’t go anywhere else apart from here.. trust me. You will thank me later..
Something really strange happened to me in this restaurant that I will always remember. Some time ago I went here to have a burger. After I finished and paid (by card) I realized I don't have any cash for a tip. So I didn't leave a tip. Yes, yes, I know the etiquette is to leave a tip and I always do, but I didn't have change at the time and already paid the check. So, I didn't leave a tip, not a big deal, right? Well, turns out in this restaurant it IS a big deal. Because when I tried to leave through the door, the waiter actually blocked the door and handed me the box for the tip and just stared at me without saying anything. It was really awkward. I explained I don't have cash and he said you can leave a tip by card. And then he quickly went to the card reader and asked me how much I would tip. I was so uncomfortable that I said 2 euros (paid ~20 for the meal). And if all that wasn’t enough, he actually asked again how much, as if implying that’s not enough. I have been telling this story to all my friends and it truly is remarkable, neither me nor anyone else has ever heard of such a thing happening in such a restaurant. Really bizarre. I am grateful to have this crazy tipping story that I can now tell people, but needless to say I have never come back here after this and never will.
