Black Gold - WALLERAWANG

Did not expect to have the cleaning lady open my LOCKED door twice on this stay! Once while I was on the toilet at 3pm and once the next morning at 8am while I was still sleeping in bed. She knocked and I didn't think it was for my room, next thing I know I hear someone unlocking and walking into my room and the lady just apologised and walked out. She said she didn't realise anyone was in there both times. I think something needs to happen with keeping track of who is in the rooms and what time you can physically go into the customers rooms! On Fri 22/9/23 i went here for dinner and i ordered the lamb rosemary and honey sausages. the first bite i took of the sausages i new something didn't taste right. i cut off a small piece and gave to a friend to try and they said that tasted funny as well. After that every 15 minutes i was having to walk outside to go to the toilets to be sick. For the next 48hrs it was coming out of both ends! i couldn't eat or drink anything except water and my friend was also sick the next morning! I had to MC a wedding that next day and with what i was experiencing took all the enjoyment out of that special occasion for me! i clearly experienced food poisoning, from what i can guess is severe cross-contamination of some kind. i gave 2 stars as the staff polite and professional. Don't think i will ever be returning here edited for response: i didn't continue to eat it after the first bites! you right food poisoning doesn't occur straight away, but cross-contamination does which is a form of food poisoning. Further more i would have addressed it with your manager but as i was outside throwing up! one of your staff took my plate away so i couldn't make a case to you manager without the evidence could i? Further more as i said at the start it happened on Friday night not last night and no i don't have gastro or any other sickness and ate exactly the same food as my friends that day. you can find find it offensive and questionable as much as you like but its the truth and i give honest reviews.

We visited Black Gold for a work trip. We didn't actually stay at the motel however we decided to have a dinner before we go back to Sydney. Lucky, we did. We were suggested scallops as an entrée then followed by lamb racks. To be honest, I dined in many hatted restaurants in Sydney but I was literally blown away how good the food was. Scallops were cooked to perfection and Lamb Rack was absolutely divine. We really enjoyed every bit of our dinner. Ambience was great and service was also impeccable Special thanks to Rob and Linda for your wonderful hospitality. We will definitely be back again.

What was originally just a drive with the little lady to show her where i lived and went to school as a young boy turned into a very pleasant surprise . My old school from kindy to year three turned into a hotel restaurant what a spin out so much so we decided to turn a day drive into an overnighter that was the right decision the room was great very modern and spacious . The bed was one of the most comfortable i have ever slept on . The food was **** great lamb cooked perfectly partners trout was amazing too her words breakfast was again amazing wish i could give more stars we will be back Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

Once again we spent a wonderful weekend at the Black Gold Hotel. Rob, Linda and all their fantastic staff hosted our car clubs annual Christmas in July festivities. All the staff at Black Gold are friendly and helpful. Big shout out to Cody in the bar for the delicious cocktails on Saturday night. We have stayed at Black Gold on numerous occasions and always feel welcome. A great gem of a hotel if you find yourself travelling out west.
