Service is good and the menu has plenty to offer. Booth and table seating available and loads of local produce to buy on the shelves.
We've eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. There's a wide ranging menu for lunch with a varied daily special board. Their scones are fresh and light for an afternoon tea and there's a selection of teas and coffees on offer. Tables are set well apart, providing plenty of room even most are occupied with happy diners.
I had lunch here with my husband and teenage son, our first time at this cafe. I was expecting a more modern, hipster-style cafe but it is fairly ordinary, quite roomy and popular with families on a Sunday. We ordered focaccia, $17 each including chips (ordinary) and side salad (fresh and tasty, nice dressing). I was impressed by the size of the focaccia (one half would have been ample for me), they were fresh and tasty, the foccacia bread was really nice and light. However, they were barely toasted and cold in the middle, a pet peeve of mine. My husband's chicken focaccia had lettuce in it - I don't get why anyone would want warm limp lettuce in their focaccia? To add to our less than satisfactory lunch, the entrance door to the cafe is a wide automatic sliding door that opens and closes frequently, so if you are sitting near it you will get frequent gusts of cold air on a cold day. It also doesn't help when customers stand in the doorway keeping the door open and staff do nothing about it. Overall we weren't impressed and decided to forgo coffee and have it in the comfort of our warm home.
Stopped in for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. Staff were friendly and we invited to take a table and they could come and get our order which they did very promptly. Or you can order at the register. The Deli offers a range of beautifully presented jellies, jams, relishes, all of which would make attractive gifts. There is also an extensive wine list and a list of daily specials. We oped to share a steak sandwich with chips and they served it in two plates, nicely presented. The sandwich was excellent, beautiful lightly toasted bread, quality steak, crisp bacon, lettuce, and a very good relish. The chips were hot, crunchy and delicious. Coffee excellent. Cakes generous and flavourful. Definitely a place we will visit again when we are in the area.
Lovely cafe and staff. We were a group of 10 and had booked a high tea. Everything was spot on and the most amazing value for money. Highly recommended
