Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI had to wait ten minutes to order food for my 5 year old son. The staff seemed more focused on serving alcohol than taking care of customers. When I tried to speak up about feeling ignored, the bar manager responded defensively. Instead of apologizing for the poor service, he became confrontational. His customer service skills were lacking, and I will not be returning to the restaurant as long as he is working there. Management should consider moving him to a role that does not involve direct interaction with customers.
The food was delicious, so many thanks to the kitchen team. Unfortunately, the service was bad. The employees were either untrained, trained or simply didn't care about their jobs, except for the person responsible, who was very organized and efficient. When we arrived at our pre-booked meal, we had to wait 10 minutes first while they had a staff meeting. Then another employee came too late. The person who led the meeting told them that it was not acceptable in the restaurant. We waited 15 minutes for our drinks to be told by the staff: “We don’t have Pina to make your drink”. We were in many village hotels and had food, but unfortunately this time it was trained by the staff who did not seem interested or as previously said. Thank you to the kitchen staff and the manager for sorting us. Our feedback is passed on to the hotel when we receive the call from the manager.
Arriving on site, no reserved table, as it was assumed, we would cancel because of the weather (why? and no starters were ready. Had to ask for a plate behind the barn when they were. During a previous visit, the person behind the bar came to our table to explain how the system works and what choices were available. It wasn't an occasion. Sta on a table next to a large family group that were offered the privilege to explain the meal to them, but then decided that instead of putting themselves, they will spend the next 30 minutes, about two meters from the table, we sat, not to offer us privacy, whatever. The main course took about 45 minutes to come, actually pretty. The two young waitresses were helpful and pleasant. Deserts looked like left transitions from breakfast, so it didn't bother.
Terrible, booked a table online and when we arrived, it was full of how the game was up. We said our reserved sign had been removed from someone. Finally 45 minutes later place for best! Pub food and twice the price. This was earlier an experience that came here, but now feels like an expensive sports bar. It won't come back.
The village restaurant has significantly declined since my last visit. It now resembles a dated Pontins holiday camp dining experience, but with lower quality food. The starters, mostly fish, were left out on a table in the heat and the soup was simply colored water with excessive salt. The main dish was also disappointing, with fatty meat and a hard Yorkshire pudding. The dessert options were limited to a croissant or muffin. Service was slow and there seemed to be a lack of supervision. Considering the high prices, there are far better dining options available elsewhere. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
