ALWAYS SIT AT THE BAR! Never sit in the dining room, that is just not the proper way to experience an omakase. This was our first time at Sushi Nakazawa and we were ecstatic. However, I find that recently, omakase sushi changed. The nigiris are not what they used to be. They 're adding innovative toppings, like karashi (Japanese mustard) or yuzu mayo, which I find unnecessary and disturbs the true taste of the fish. Thankfully, they didn 't mess around with the aji,
From the moment you step in, you?re experiencing everything you expected to see for omakase. The server, chefs are well knowledge in the food they are serving. Each piece travels miles to get to the table. Nice ambience, clean, well presented. The chef is friendly as well and noticed he would always serve the lady first, it?s those little details would make me want to visit again!
Phenomenal experience start to finish. Each piece of nigiri was thoughtfully curated and delicious. Service was wonderful. Highly recommend
Sushi that melts in your mouth. Initial server was a bit snobby, but thankfully the others were better. Restaurant?s entrance is also a bit difficult to find. High price point, but likely the best sushi I?ve had in DC.
