Johnny's Deli - Washington DC

I've been a fan of Johnny's Deli for years and years. When I forget my breakfast (or when the office Dairy Monster has taken my yogurt or butter), I order my fave sammy from Johnny's: turkey bacon and egg on wheat toast w/no cheese. Sounds simple enough, but whatever my fave short-order cook does to this sammy, he better not change. Ever. Sure, the service could be warmer, but I think Johnny knows he has loyal fans, and people have accepted the fact that he is a cranky old fella who runs a well-run deli. On cheating days, I've been known to order a steak and cheese. Heaven. Not too greasy, not too light.

Only decent quick lunch near the courthouse. Also best priced. A bit dingy, so not for folks who can't handle that. (Update: Johnny's had looked closed now due over a week. No otherwise sign is trouble, or sign up.

This restaurant is a bit dirty and rugged but if you can get past that, the food is great! Ordered one of the omelette plates and it was delicious although in my opinion, it is pretty difficult to screw up breakfast. Also, the male restroom was not working. I rated it four stars because of the food. ;
