Raku At Cathederal - Washington DC

The menu is fantastic, featuring excellent sushi in a town where options are generally average to good. The Red Curry Seafood Udon is a must-try! Cho was a wonderful host, very helpful and attentive throughout our meal!

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. I went with my son, who attends American University, and his girlfriend. We started with potstickers, which were excellent. We also ordered a few rolls, and all of them were fresh and delicious. I had the tuna and seaweed salad, which I really liked. We managed to keep our bill under $100, even without drinks. The service was great as well.

Raku is an incredible addition to Cathedral Commons and Cleveland Park—a true home run! The food is excellent; I'm working my way through the entire menu and haven't been disappointed yet, nor do I expect to be. From the tuna tartare and healthy tofu salad to all the sushi and the deluxe udon with dashi broth, as well as the salmon—the list just goes on and on, and everything is really, really good. However, it takes outstanding service and a great atmosphere to make a restaurant exceptional, and Raku delivers on both fronts. The staff is very knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely friendly! I haven’t encountered a server having a bad day yet. I highly recommend Raku if you’re in the mood for Asian cuisine.

The sushi is the bomb and the wine/sake list is pretty nice too.

Great dishes beyond just the sushi. Relatively bargain priced. A real pleasant surprise.
