So we opted to go here based on reviews as we searched for sushi. Greeted very nicely and seated right away. Took a bit to get our drink order although server said they were short staffed for the night. Requested patience. That's fine..We ordered edanami, 3 rolls and a steak n shrimp entree. I stressed my steak to be medium rare 3 times,. Ugh came out and it was crunchy on the ends. Way overcooked .. So disappointing. I didn't say anything because by the time the entree came out I was full with the sushi rolls. Rainbow roll, volcano roll , (forgot the 3rd) best one is volcano. The server was really nice. He was young and didn't check on us , good thing the water pitcher was on the table across from us so I did my own water refills. ? The rolls are pricey but they are huge. My shrimp was not included in my entree so I reminded the server who said he forgot. A few minutes later he came out with 5 boiled shrimp on a plate. Wait what? I ordered teriyaki steak n shrimp. The steak was tough the shrimp was rubbery and no taste. The house salad was fresh, the veggies on the entree were good, fresh, crunchy but needed seasoning, (no seasoning) it was expensive n so bland with overcooked shrimp n steak. I wanted to like this place cuz they are so nice but, beyond disappointed for sure. Veteran owned and operated. Love the decor throughout.
When my husband and I entered the restaurant we knew they had 5 min before their actual time of opening. The nice lady allowed us to come in (super hot outside). She informed us they officially didn 't open until another 5 min. but to please have a seat at the table and when the time arrived she would come and take our drink order. WE were so happy she just allowed us to take a seat and cool off before our lunch. Then the owner saw she allowed us to sit down that he actually YELLED (and I do mean yelled) at her! That she knew we didn 't open until 5 min and she shouldn 't not allowed us to sit down! First, we didn 't appreciate the way he treated his employee and second to yell at her in front of us!! NOT acceptable! We thanked the lady for her kindness then looked directly at the owner and informed him that we would NOT be returning to his restaurant if this is how he conducts business...NOT one word from him...no I apologize or anything! Let me tell you this is a medium priced restaurant and with today 's competition I don 't feel you would want to drive people away on purpose..just not a very nice owner.
Sushi and appetizers were great, but the chicken and fried rice sucked, it was steamed rice with large chunks of egg and the chicken tempura was super bland and definitely not worth the
The Tokyo Tonkatsu Ramen was to die for. I’ve seen a lot of reviews that said it was bland, but I honestly don’t see how. I’ve tried many ramen shops in the Austin and Dallas area and this is by far one of my most favorite places for ramen now. The server was very professional, helpful and patient with us since it was our first time there. The chef even came out when we first showed up to introduce himself and give some tidbit info. Yes this place is pricey but deservingly so. The portions and quality are definitely worth the price and we will definitely recommend and drive back over from granbury just to eat here again. Also to add the strawberry mochi is definitely the most authentic I’ve tried in this area and worth it.
