My son n daughter in-law took me To Mysore Darshini on 4 June 2022 . I being pure vegetarian visiting my son's family at Ontario Canada, they find where they can take me to south indian food. I tried many no restaurant was up to their names except for Saravana Bhavana, Charminar Indian cuisine, Parantha wala galli. But this one Mysore Darshni stands up to the name they have chosen .I even herd the chef talking friendly n caring to an old man n his son in Kannada, I was so happy to hear my mother tongue in Canada?. I was reluctant to trust the taste of the food items on the menu as per my previous experiences at many place, even some were worst, I opted for Mosaru vada, dark roasted Masala dosa inspired by Vidyarthi Bhavana ,Bangalore, filter coffee, My daughter in-law ordered for spicy Pudi paper dosa, my son ordered for masala vada , uddin vada n sambhar. The best was mosaru vada you can call it dahi vada or their vada, spicy served with beaten curd n cara boondi on top, the first morsels took me back to my Bangalore .The dosa, coffee, masala vada n Uddin vada was up to our expectations. Thanks to the awesome taste they are serving. The menu has many types rice items, chapathi roti, n other typical south Indian dishes..I strongly recommend Mysore Darshini for authentic south Indian Mysore taste far away from namma ooru our home land) .Hi Indians at Ontario, hop in for the best experience..finger licking dishes.
I grew up in south India with fabulous food cooked by my mom. My exposure to different cuisines grew with time, but soul food for me is always south indian cuisine. And south India has at least 4 states with multiple food styles. Paradise for the gastric sense. Best south indian food in GTA at Mysore Darshini. As authentic as I can recollect. We had the uddin vada, idly with sambar, masala dosa, kesari bath and of course the filter coffee
I do love their signature double roast Masala Dosa but not very impressed with anything else as much. However very sweet staff and good service.Response to Mysore Darshini: Talk about being Savage for the heck of it. Lol! I definitely can search for a better restaurant good sir- because the options are endless. But the attitude sure can cost you customers and I’m glad you choose to display it at a public forum.
One of the best and most authentic udupi tasting food ever tasted in Canada. We were a party of 7 who visited today for the first time to this warm place and ordered a variety of of vegetarian dosas and appetizers. Mr. Shailu personally greeted us and made us comfortable. The wait staff were two very pleasing and courteous ladies. Everything exceeded our expectations by far. There are a plenty of good south Indian restaurants in the GTA and our expectations were already set at a high level and Mr. Shailu's place easily broke all our previous taste benchmarks. The service felt a little slow at first but after we discovered that everything is fresh and made to order (can you believe that coffee and mango lassi is also made fresh to order? , i would rather say it was a super fast service and we started feeling like home. Give this place a try, Mysore masala dosa(spicy , masala poori, coffee and dark roast dosa(in picture , you will fall in love with this restaurant.
