We reserved a table for lunch (glad we did as it gets very busy during weekends). My husband had mountain pork chop and I had tortellini with figues/nuts and a creamy sauce. For desert we had coffees with Schnapps/Baileys. Food is beautifully presented and tastes lovely. Service is good, but they are extremely busy especially at weekends, so you have to make some allowances. We strongly recommend to book a table if you dont fancy waiting.
I can understand the mixed reviews as this place does not fit any typical expectations people might have... we loved it precisely for that reason. We had lunch in the self service side the Toggenburg plättli of local meats and cheeses and lightly pickled vegetables was large and outstanding, the mixed salad was surprisingly good, flavorful and very fresh, and the chunky chips (french fries) were the best we've ever had. Super hot and crispy. Well done! The highlight of our afternoon, though, was the flourless chocolate cake on the full service side of the restaurant. Fantastic! Service was good when we were there, but the place was almost empty.
Overwhelming huge restaurant. Brand new, very bright, nice usage of wood in interior and exterior. Terrace with self-service area as well as served area. Panorama walkway starts right at the restaurant. Nice view on Flumserbergen southward. Coming up from Unterwasser by train to lltios. Then further by gondel. Impressive view, even saw several Steinbock. Rather expensive trip up-down. Without special cards you pay CHF 48. See website.
Familie Meyer
