Marigold Restaurants - Winnipeg

My wife and I stopped at the Marigold on Inkster Blvd on our way home from the airport.The parking lot was pretty full but the restaurant looked empty. It is deceiving when looking from outside. The restaurant is quite deep with two large banquet areas. The one banquet area was full. There was only one table occupied in the restaurant. When you walk in there is a lounge to the left and the restaurant to the right. In the restaurant area there is a buffet counter which I believe is available for lunch.We were escorted to a nice sized booth. There were two young female servers who were both very polite and very pleasant.We had not had Chinese food in awhile and ordered four dishes for a variety. The server brought us consomme soup which had rice and green onions in it. A nice way to start as we were both hungry.When our server brought out our eyes lit up. The portions were very generous. The food was very hot and very tasty. We could have fed 4-6 people with the four dishes.We were very happy with our first visit to this Marigold.

The buffet is always stocked and hot. The menu items are also very delicious with a wide variety of items to choose from.

I have lived in Winnipeg for almost 8 months and have driven by this place on inkster street so many times, always wondered what it looked like inside and to try the food! Finally got to try the Worwonton soup!! It's soooo good!! I would recommend this place to everyone , I also tried the beef rice noodle stir fry , fabulous !!!! My husband and I will be back, I think the owner/gentleman I met there is named Calvin , he was very friendly and made me feel comfortable and was a great host!!

I visited this restaurant tonight and had hot and sour soup and Szechuan beef. The beef was delicious. The soup was less spicy than it should have been, and not as flavourful as I'f like. I'll probably return to try some of their other menu items in the future.

$56.78. 1 pan fried shrimp. 2 pad thai. 1 dry veal. 1 hot and sour soup. Excellent. Tasty. Worth every cent.
