Louis Take Away - Zürich

We were here on Christmas Eve, when practically nothing is open in Zurich and the places that are open were so full, there was no chance of getting in! We debated trying this rather average looking take away shop, or the kebab store next...door OMG stay away from the kebab store and come straight here! The burgers were outstanding! Freshly made, perfectly cooked, and paired with fresh salad ingredients and a secret sauce that would make McDonalds ashamed. This is truly gourmet stuff and at a very reasonable price sorry to give away the secret but the Tina burger cost CHF10.50 from the take away store which is actually attached to the upmarket Louis restaurant next door. The same burger inside the restaurant costs you CHF38.00 give me the take away version, any day! You can thank us for the recommendation next time you've been trekking all over Zurich for the day and want something affordable, fresh, and super tasty. We will definitely be back!

We had been on a long walk around central Zurich and had then crossed the River Limmat to have a look at the Neidorf neighbourhood. It was early evening and we were tired and just wanted to grab something quick and easy to eat before...heading back to our hotel. Louis' takeaway met that need. We each ordered particular varieties of hamburgers and fries at the counter. They were cooked and served quickly by a gentleman who we presumed to have be Louis himself. We also purchases a soft drink and a bottle of water. Prices were quite reasonable by Swiss standards. There were no tables or chairs available at this establishment and so we took our purchases over to a nearby square and consumed them there. The burgers and fries were well-cooked, tasty and enjoyable.

This place is a little gem! And it overs substantially better take away food than every other take away in Niederdorf. And on a cold night it's kept nice and warm by lots of over head heating, it was gloriously warm! Can't wait to go...back and enjoy a few drinks in the Tina bar above and then get some food here before tramming home.

On our way home after a big walk we were starving. Thus we stopped by at Louis to take a bite.We ate a pork steak sandwitch and a beef burger. They were totally delicious !! I fondly recommend it guys.
