Our table for 9... leer más My brother had been here once previously and when asked where he wanted us to take him for his birthday dinner, Celine's Bistro was his choice. Our table for 9 was ready when we arrived early. The Owner greeted us at the door. The food was fantastic. It is a mix of Cajun/Creole, Italian and American which was great for a large group, including our Dad who is very picky but will always eat Italian. There was something for everyone. We started with some of their drink specials and a sampler appetizer plate which had wings, onion petals, crawfish bites and fisherman's purse. They were all delicious, but the fisherman's purse (seafood stuffed wontons) was so good, we ordered an extra plate of them. Trust me, order them! For dinner, I had the best shrimp and grits I've ever had (and I live in Florida where it is plentiful)! It was a pile of tasty grits, surrounded by a circle of shrimp in an amazingly delicious sauce. Dad had Vinny's Famous Manicotti, and our normally grumpy, complaining old man LOVED them! As for atmosphere, it's nothing fancy. It was comfortabe and the lighting was fine. We were near the bar which was somewhat loud at times, but we were able to carry on a normal conversation. It was not too busy, but I suspect that isn't always the case and as word spreads, this will become more and more popular. No doubt, I will go back whenever I'm in NJ visiting my family.
