At first we ha... leer más Spartina is a fantastic Italian restaurant that is directly hidden on Melrose. We came to Valentine's Day dinner where they had a Prix Fixe menu. At first we had starters who had surprises. The giant beans that were literally only big beans were surprisingly good. They had lemon wort taste. The Arancini was good, too dry I think, but the spaghetti pee that was just a hint of spaghetti was great! The marinara sauce had a lot of taste. Next we had the Lobster Capaletti and grilled avocado with Baja shrimps. Both were very good. Next were the nets. We had the Rock Steak and short rib filled Tortellini. The Tortellini was ok, I don't think that the short rib taste came through enough the Tortellini is itself and brown butter sauce was very delicious. The star of the night was the Rock Steak. Everything on the plate was great. Meat was perfectly cooked and had a great taste that went well with the chimichurri. The Brussels sprouts and roasted potatoes were so good. Finally for the desert we had bread pudding and the signature nutcake. Both were very good. Service and ambience were also top notch. The terrace was very nice and our server helped us choose all dishes. Definitely want to come back soon and try several dishes from their normal menu. We will certainly add Spartina to our Italian short list.

The primavera saute with pasta was too watery. The veggie doneness was all over the board. Some near raw and some mushy. Our server was the best. I would say she was in the top ten. Their shrimp tempura is unlike any other I?ve tried with a thicker tempura and perfectly crispy. The bulgogi pork bowl is over the top! The amount of flavor that is packed into every bite is mouth watering and leaves you craving more. It has a pleasant heat to it, wonderful veggies, and perfectly cut and cooked pork. If you are still hungry, add the pot stickers. They have a thicker wrap then traditionally tasted but the are so tasty. Highly recommend trying this place if you are anywhere close to Reno
