17.08.2023 - 11:10Nice friendly staff that helped us pick from their extensive menu. We decided to stay away from the fried chicken and try some of their other items. The hand cut noodles with clams were good in a very mild broth. The spicy rice cake from the hibachi section of the menu was just the opposite--deliciously spicy. The Funny Combo was easily accessible with katsu pork and fish plus bulgogi. Would have preferred a little less breading but still good.

05.08.2023 - 06:19The place is clean and friendly. The owner had suggestions on what to order and they hit the spot. We shared a lamb kuzi entree which was flavorful and super tender. We also had tasty baba ganoush and tabouli. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was that none of the hot appetizers were available (offered at breakfast only). On 90+ degree day, the air conditioning here was a welcome reprieve.

05.08.2023 - 05:47Had been to one of their other locations 4 years prior while visiting the San Diego area. Decided to try this one for late breakfast and early lunch. The al pastor tacos were good, nicely seasoned and not too fatty. The rolled tacos were freshly made, crunchy and topped with guacamole. Just wish there had been more meat inside. Knocked off a star for that and the missing salsa bar. I'd go back.

27.07.2023 - 01:27I needed a pho fix after a week of eating delicious Southern food and this place hit the mark. It's all about the broth, right? This place definitely has delicious broth with great aromatics and that silky bone broth feel. Service was friendly and quick. Serving size was good. I just wish that tripe could have been available. The owner (Ken? explained that there wasn't much demand for it in this location and he didn't want to compromise with frozen tripe. There are pho-ing standards!

24.07.2023 - 08:06Nice to walk in through the floral department. Good selection of coffees and teas. Also, the produce is fresh- as the name would have you expect. Knocked off a star because of the lack of personal care items.

20.07.2023 - 22:16This place is the reinvention of the former restaurant to occupy this space Sassafras. I was told that the chef/owner of Exile was the chef for the Sassafras team. The menu and the decor are pretty much the same. There are some super tasty new savory brunch options. Also, the beverage choices have expanded. We enjoyed starting with beignets, followed by Grillades (short ribs) Grits as well as the Green Tomato Benedict. It was awesome. Service was outstanding too, cheerful and quick. The coffee never got empty. We'll be back, quicker than a trip to New Orleans.

20.07.2023 - 12:11We came for a late breakfast on a Friday and the place was packed. Being willing to sit outside, we were seated pretty quickly. We picked the spot because some wanted sweet breakfast and others had in mind savory, more lunch like options. It did not disappoint. The churro pancakes were a hit as was the Japanese fried chicken sandwich. They were out of egg substitute for the frittata, which was great because we aren't vegan and preferred real eggs anyways. Service was attentive, keeping our coffee mugs filled. Only after eating here did I realize they have locations all over the San Diego area.
