Very kind, attentive and offered great suggestions. The music was a 10 out of 10. I was singing so much Barbara told me I should come back for Karaoke on Wednesday nights. My husband had fish and sweet potato fries, which were delicious. I had a $28.99 combo with all shrimp, heads off in mild garlic butter lemon sauce, which was also delicious. Their mild was quite zesty (I can’t handle any spice) but still good, I just required extra water, which Barbara kept coming. The food literally was out within 15 minutes. If you like bread then you’ll love their hush puppies too. My only compliant is you have to pay a $2 up charge to hate shrimp without their heads attached. Great experience! Hopefully you’ll get Barbara, must waitress ever!

When we arrived there wasn’t a wait but we must have bought the crowd because shortly thereafter the line was out of the door. I had a slice of vanilla confetti cake and my husband had a slice of coconut with 2 bottles of water. The slices are extremely large in size so it is shareable or you can save some for later which is what we both did. I don’t think my cake is a fan favorite because my slice was frozen whereas my husband’s coconut was fresh. My cake was also on the dryer side and my icing was rather thick. However the coconut cake was fresh and the icing was very smooth and not too heavy. Overall I do recommend and would try again but I’d love to try red velvet if that’s an option when we go back (it wasn’t the day we went). The customer service was superb and I absolutely loved the sitting area in the back.

I am a pescatarian and I have tried a number of vegan places but NuVegan by far is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! If you’ve had Philly Vegan and liked them, you’re going to LOVEEEE NUVEGAN!!!! Parking is on the street but it was very easy for me on a Friday evening to find parking. The music, was EVERYTHING! If you’re like me and love 90s R&B then this is the place for you! They played hit after hit after hit. Honey I felt like I was at a concert waiting in line. The options are endless and they even allow free samples. Me and husband got different things to try each others food. So we tried the chicken sandwich with Mumbo sauce, steak and cheese, yams, cabbage, collard greens, Mac and cheese, cornbread and chicken salad! Money well spent. Everything was delicious! And the customer service was superb! They even bought our food to us at our table. I truly can’t wait to visit them again!

I must say, to be a fast food restaurant they were extremely clean; truly nothing was out of place. The staff was there, neither friendly nor mean. I asked for recommendations, but was told she doesn’t eat the food, so she wasn’t sure what to offer. They did have the option to place your order yourself if you were paying with card. I had the shack pack with catfish (which had a $1 upgrade whiting would have been included) with Mac and cheese, collard greens and strawberry shortcake. My hush puppies and fries weren’t fresh. You could tell they had been sitting out for quite some time. The shrimp and fish were fried but I would’ve enjoyed it, if they were fried harder. It also lacked seasoning. I think they should season the fish prior to frying it. The collard greens were sweet, overly sweet. Me, my husband and teenager daughter tried them and we all agreed (to throw them in the trash, which is exactly what we did). The Mac and cheese was made with a white, maybe queso cheese. While better than the collard greens (but that doesn’t say much) it too lacked seasoning and tasted more like box Kraft Mac and cheese than homemade or restaurant quality. Overall, food wise I was truly underwhelmed. Food wise, I probably would give 1 star but I enjoyed the strawberry shortcake so much I gave 2 stars in that category.
