This sleepy village is like a throwback in time and a quite remarkable place to spend a couple of days. The owner (David) was incredibly hospitable and not only served as an amazing host but also was a wealth of information about the area. The food is traditional Portuguese fare prepared fresh to order by David and his family. We tried several fish dishes that were amazingly tasty. Sitting outside in the courtyard only added to our experience as the wine flowed and we were treated like long lost friends. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

My wife and I stopped for a late lunch. We wanted something light and warm. I had the shrimp and vegetables tempura Goyas Noodle Soup. I asked for it crazy spic... leer más My wife and I stopped for a late lunch. We wanted something light and warm. I had the shrimp and vegetables tempura Goyas Noodle Soup. I asked for it crazy spicy as the menu indicated as one their spice categories. The waiter politely indicated that was not possible. However when my soup arrived he produced a small bottle of spicy seasoning that I could use. The spice was grown red pepper flakes, lemon peal, black and yellow sesame seeds. I will look to find this in an oriental grocery or on line for purchase to use in my cooking. The soup was hot from the fire . Not spicy yet but after tasting the broth several times I experimented with this unknown seasoning. The broth was very favorable with mushrooms, green onions I believe ginger with a good size portion of large noodles. A without adding the spice was delicious. I did add a very small amount and tasted that for the heat. It was there but not enough for my taste buds. I added another amount making it about a 1/4 teaspoon. That amount added the heat I was looking for. The soup was now perfect for me an no criticism or insult is meant to the Chef. His soup was excellent and most people would love it without my tampering with heat. The tempura consisted of two each large shrimp, sweet potato slices, carrots slices all perfectly coated in tempura batter and deep fried. All very very tasty and I dipped each in my soup as I bit off pieces. My wife had a California Roll and tasted one piece. The rice was excellent and held together with the seaweed wrap. The shrimp and carrot inside with ginger slices and wasabi paste made this an excellent choice. I do not eat a lot of sushi and no little about it. The few times I have hadn't it has been very good by my limited taste knowledge. This was very good to my taste and she said it was great. We had iced tea to drink. The restaurant is very well decorated with an arrangement of booths and tables that allow both privacy and romance if you are inclined. Some of tables and chairs closest to the rotating sushi bar allow access to that. It appeared to be unused during our visit which may have been the time of day in late afternoon with minimal customers. I have never been to a restaurant using a rotating bar so will refrain from further comment until I can return and possibly use the bar. This restaurant is excellent, good for families and groups. If you are looking to try sushi or your a regular eater I would encourage you to try here. Some of the sushi prices seemed quite high to me but my wife says that is normal. So please be your own judge of prices and quality.
