You walk into the Siren Hotel and down a hallway in the back there’s a single door that just reads “Albena”, you feel like you’re walking into a speakeasy. You sit at a counter with only eight seats. Chef Lipar cooks everything in front of you as the meal progresses while his partner Tiffany serves a wine pairing. That’s it, just the two of them. The amount of work these two people do to pull this eight course meal off is insane. The menu changes with the seasons. All the products are local. This restaurant gets very little press despite the Free Press declaring them number one resturant in 2019. If you like fine dining or interested in trying it this place is worth it.

There was one especially named Derrick. He spent a lot of time with us and was very knowledgeable about the store products. He not only was is sales but also prepared the food. The store is a must to go to and is apart of Detroit. The subs are the best in the state and most are only 5 dollars. You should never go to subway and make time to visit Alcamo's.

The best part is Mike and Mona still have this restaurant in the family. What good memories. Mike used to blur the kids. Mona would take our youngest back and give her snacks. Hey, Mile and Mona. The walleye portion was generous and delicious. The home-made chips were also very good. The coleslaw was OK. It seemed to have a strong onion taste. The salmon was cooked medium as ordered and was also delicious. The side of vegetables were crispy, not soft. Service was pleasant but slow. We didn't mind the wait for our meals but we didn't think we would ever get our check. Finally, we waived down the manager and asked her to tell our server we were ready to pay. We waited another 15 minutes.
