We’d heard of this place after a little bit of research, but didn’t manage to organise a reservation before heading to Bordeaux. Luckily we managed to get the l... leer más We’d heard of this place after a little bit of research, but didn’t manage to organise a reservation before heading to Bordeaux. Luckily we managed to get the last two seats at the counter when we arrived, and so glad we did. This place was brilliant. The food was faultless, and the service and the atmosphere fantastic. For the evening meals, you get a 5-course “5 Mile” menu a mixture of veg, fish and meat courses, plus a dessert , so the only choices you have to make are on the drinks unless you do the wine -pairing, which we didn’t . The food is prepped and cooked in full sight of all the customers in the middle of the restaurant, which adds a little theatre. And while it’s not a new concept to do this, it’s great seeing the skill, the care and the people cooking the food for you. It also creates a sense of anticipation as they plate-up the food in-front of everyone so you’re trying to identify what’s next! Every course served was the perfect size, perfectly seasoned and perfectly balanced with flavours. The cuisine itself was a surprise as it was quite eastern in flavour and ingredients. I didn’t really have any expectations on what I’d be eating, but this was a surprise and a very pleasing one. This is genuinely one of the best meals I’ve had and highly recommend to anyone visiting Bordeaux. Especially with the clear passion and dedication of everyone working at this restaurant. On a final point, try the Portuguese Aphros white wine. It’s delicious.
