The freshness of the artichokes radiates through the classic herbed stuffing of this Sicilian dish upon a small pool of exquisitely rendered tomato sauce. The fish, perfumed with shaved fennel and circled by roast potatoes.The beef filet is meltingly tender in its sauce laden with a variety of mushrooms. Everything is perfect, and not least the uncontrived elegance of the room, white-painted wood, gold accents and an an abundance of easy friendliness from the proprietors. And located just about half way between the Mediterranean and Zurich, it 's a perfect place to stop mid-journey.
