Había desayunado bien en un bar en la ciudad al que pensaba ir hasta que apareció la opción barata, simple y relativamente rápida de un restaurante chino. Al principio parecía un poco oscuro y ni siquiera estaba seguro si estaba abierto, y aunque al principio me dirigieron al peor asiento para un comensal solitario, pedí estar cerca de un enchufe para cargar mi teléfono y se resolvió el problema. El personal fue cortés sin ser demasiado amigable. La comida estaba buena, servida caliente y, aunque no había nada fuera de lo común en el menú, comí un rollo de primavera, sopa, arroz hervido y un plato de pollo al curry con el que quedé contento con la relación calidad-precio. La cerveza embotellada también era barata, mucho más barata que en el bar promedio. Mi única queja, y esta es típica en los restaurantes chinos (en España), es que sirven los platos principales mientras todavía estás comiendo la sopa.

I love that we aren't going to be regular customers as we were down from Madrid for the week, but that kind of sincere honesty should be rewarded. I've seen a reviewers say the same, so we were not alone in that. What is more, the quality of the food went beyond the excellent quantity! Loved everything, but especially the hake/merluza and dogfish/cazón. Recommended!

La comida china suele ser asequible y fácil de probar diferentes platos, y si vas temprano, puedes encontrar la paz que buscas. ChinAstur era así, pero a medida que avanzaba en mi cena, empezaban a llegar multitudes, muchos de ellos claramente clientes habituales que conocían al personal. Siempre una buena señal. Pedí sopa agria y dulce, un rollito de primavera, arroz blanco y un plato de pollo con una cerveza, y no pagué más de 12€. Todo estaba delicioso, el personal amable y la atmósfera perfecta. Me encanta la comida asturiana y española en general, pero si buscas una breve 'escapada' de todo eso, esta es una excelente opción.

There was a good sign in itself and listening in on the conversations there was a mix of locals and weekend visitors like myself. The location so near to the plaza mayor must help a little though. The food was very good and seemed to be less the classic generic formula for all 'Spanish ' Chinese restaurants in terms of taste. For example, I fancied some hot and spicy soup as it was a chilly evening and I wasn 't disappointed maybe I was lucky but the it had an extra kick. The same with the main course. Chinese beers are available but the 'national ' beers are much much cheaper and better value than in most bars. The food itself is pretty cheap and eating in a group you can eat very well without spending much. I was very happy and also by the fact that although the restaurant was full I wasn 't encouraged to leave as a solo traveller I wasn 't going to be the most profitable customer. I would definitely go back next time I am in Salamanca.

Los camareros parecían bastante apurados, pero supongo que era la cantidad de clientes. No comí, pero parecía haber una buena selección de bocadillos, hamburguesas, raciones y otras cosas. Las jarras de medio litro de cerveza afuera costaban €2.50 cada una.

It was midweek lunchtime and totally full, a good sign in itself we maybe waited two minutes for a shady terrace spot. The service was friendly, helpful we had a few questions regarding what they had which wasn 't on the menu and then the size and quality of the tapas was perfect. It was great to get the gazpacho in a small class to cool ourselves down a bit before tucking into the rest. The cazón/dogfish was especially tasty, but everything we had 5/6 dishes for my wife, daughter and myself was great. From what I read and saw I would recommend it for breakfast if you prefer to eat lunch/dinner elsewhere.

I like Chinese food, knowing it won 't normally represent food from the country, but you can still get a full range of flavours depending on what country or city you are eating this cuisine in sometimes catering for local tastes and sometimes not. What I noticed on the two nights was the variety of locals coming in often for a takeout and a number of people I took to be residents on the rock who came over for a reasonably priced dinner and who seemed to come over from time to time. It 's so near the border that it seems to extend its catchment beyond the frontier. As for the food I really liked it both soups I tried (hot n sour, chicken) were very good, the spring rolls seemed a little average, but the 'spicier ' chicken dishes and rice and noodles all hit the spot. National beer is very reasonably priced and unless you 're desperate to have Chinese beer at twice the price, I 'd stick to San Miguel, Cruzcampo or whatever is on offer. The prices were very reasonable for most dishes.
