It's simple, consistent, absolutely terrible for your cholesterol, and goes great with red/greensalsas. There isn't always a wait, but it's always worth it.

There was so much going on that it didn't occur to me that I hadn't taken any pictures. We stopped in here after a car show and we weren't the first family to do so. It wasn'tpacked but it was busy (I don't think they knew about this event). The girl behind the counter was new-ish, but she handled thestress well. Besides her there was one other counter person, a manager I believe, who was training her while doing a load ofother things. My daughter was given the wrong topping on her dessert and I was given the wrong ice cream. We didn't ask for acorrection because they were overwhelmed as it was. My teen's sandwich order was accidentally made twice, so he was happy. Theback/kitchen manager kept insisting that an ice cream order get made for a couple who'd been waiting an hour. They also had aproblem with one computer so many other food orders didn't get sent to the kitchen and a lot of customers were upset with thewait time for that. At one point my daughter was coughing because of her ice cream (dry throat from the sugar) and I got inline to ask for a cup for water but there wasn't anyone acknowledging the people there so I went to my car and brought my metalcup in (the customers in line still hadn't been helped) and used that at the fountain. I guess I can't understand how they had6 other people in the kitchen but none of them helping up front. The ice cream consistency was smooth and the flavor was nice,and I'll give the brand another try someday, but I'm not in a hurry if that tells you anything.

I had the 2 meat plate (pulled pork and chopped beef) with baked beans and classic potato salad. All of the food came out quickly and hot with a simple presentation. All of it was seasoned andcooked well without the need for sauce. Out of curiosity I tried the sauce and it added a nice and complimentary flavor.

Staff was very attentive and friendly and most importantly the food was amazingly good. I had a meat platter(brisket and burnt ends) and my daughter a burnt ends sandwich. All of the food, including the sides, tasted great and was wellpriced.

I am also pregnant so it was a bit concerning when I started feeling dizzy, but the staff went above and beyondand were amazing and brought me ice and a fan and helped me cool off until I felt well enough to call an uber home. I could notspeak more to how amazing and kind the staff are! I will recommend this place to anyone looking for dinner and a lovely place torelax down town and look forward to coming back to have dinner here in the future. The food I had was flavorful. and beans came in their own container just in case I didn'twant it together. Portions were enough and yes authentic just like when I lived in Ponce for a minute!
