The pies are made by... leer más I often travel here for an evening meal, today I took the plunge and tried the pie of the day , which as it happened was chicken and bacon. The pies are made by the owner, a Romanian fellow with a name I can not pronounce, much less spell. But the pastry! OMG this is the finest pie pastry I have ever tasted. I 'm no expert, but I 'm guessing he uses flaky pastry for the pies, rather than the usual shortcrust or puff top. We do have to educate him however about gravy. You don 't serve beef gravy with a chicken pie! Not in England, anyway!
