11.05.2023 - 10:01I don't like it if you have the word of the staff regarding what is vegan... there is no accountability. And restaurants that stand from their vegan food can also explain it. With these qualifications: According to personnel, all vegetarian dishes are vegan. But surely confirm... some of them mention Rita, which is usually milk yogurt. 21.04.2023 - 05:03I must say that I like Parterre. Half inside(small bar), half outside(pavement). A crowd of hipster parents and wannabes that come in for Bern's best coffee and a chat with the barista. The crowd changes a bit in the evenings but is composed by people enjoying...the great atmosphere. Low music makes this place perfect for conversations and the possibility of sitting outside surprisingly gives some sort of privacy. Tips Have a beer or coffee with your friends and check out the Bernese as they walk pass wanting to stop at Parterre.

18.04.2023 - 14:58Vegan options: betroot gnocchi and avocado fritters. Very nice setting and service level. Not outstanding food in proportion to the pricing.

02.03.2023 - 05:49As outdoor dining and drinks are finally allowed again in Switzerland, we waited in line on a sunny afternoon to get a table in Café Bellagio's terrace. After being seated, we were given a piece of paper with a barcode and was told that each...person needed to scan register, before taking our orders. We tried, but the barcode led to a third party website, and an app (Spcial Pass) needed to be downloaded on your smartphone. As the waiter returned, we infomed him that the barcode doesn't seem to work correctly as it is asking us to download an app. He said that the Social Pass app is necessary for contact tracing registration in order to be served. I politely explained that we do not download third party apps on our phone, but we would gladly provide our names and numbers on a paper registry. The waiter rudely said that if we do not have the app, we cannot be served. He also added that it is required by the law. I tried to clarify with him that while the law requires us to provide our contact information in resstaurants, it does not endorse or specify the use of any particular app. Furthermore, our research shows that the Social Pass app is a third party app developed by a private person to faciliate an establishment's collection of client data. To be clear, it has neither connections to nor endorsement from the Federal Office of Public Health. After a small argument, we were still refused to be served and decided to go somewhere else for drinks. 50 meters away, a lakeside bar welcomed us without the need for the Social Pass app . Note: Even if we agreed to use the app, it was impossible to download as my phone was out of space and my friend's was a work phone (I also explained this to the wiater). In other establishments, pen and papers are still used. Remember, not everyone own or carry smartphones, and providing personal information to a third party application (not the restaurant) should always be at the client's discretion.
