You get a full sized naan bread (your choice of plain, cheese or garlic), a huge piece of chicken tikka, capsicum, cabbage, onion and sauce. Whilst I was waiting for it to be assembled I spotted the huge samosas and couldn't resist trying a meat one. It was full of delicious meat with a lovely crumbly pastry and the mint chutney was great. The naan hit the spot too. For less than $10 I struggled to eat everything. Friendly service topped it all off.

The restaurant excels in other areas as well. The food is simply a delight. From...the amuse-bouche you are served as you arrive up to the dessert, quality and taste are evident in every offering. There is a lot of care involved, the plates look very beautiful. The service is extremely attentive and adds not only local color but also a lot of fun to the dining experience. If you understand French, you may want to try the Gigot d'Agneau, a lamb stew that is cooked for seven hours you will get a series of comments from the waiter. Take your time reading the menu for there are many combinations that may result in better prices. And do not forget that you are in Ambert, home of the Fourme a delicious cheese that is not so easy to find elsewhere. There will certainly be one or more selections where you can taste this specialty.

I wonder, however, whether I will come back on the basis of the last four times that we have been there in about twelve months. every time we have a table of four people, so not a large group and should be manageable with regard to the service. the last time I dimmed here was on the last Friday (15/2) and we had appalling service. each of our escapes was bought individually and for our net. that means we all had to eat at different times, not what they intend to eat. to add insult to an already questionable service...read more
